Jessica Stanley, Civil Engineer

Jessica Stanley is a civil engineer at Sherwood Design Engineers. She is passionate about ecological design, landscape-based stormwater management and water reuse. Making her way to Tahoe from San Francisco, she’s excited to explore opportunities to implement sustainable land design solutions locally. Jessica is also the co-founder of a Tahoe-based wine company called Illanta Wines

Megan Michelson, Writer/Editor

Megan Michelson, a co-founder and manager of the Mill, is a freelance writer. She worked as the freeskiing editor for ESPN.com, and before that, as an editor at Skiing Magazine and Outside Magazine. Her work has appeared in publications including the New York Times, Powder, Men's Journal, Outside, Backpacker, and more. 

Dan Abrams, Flylow Gear

Dan Abrams, one of the co-founders of Tahoe Mill, is the president and co-founder of Flylow Gear, an independent manufacturer of backcountry freeride ski outerwear, now sold in stores around the globe. Abrams started the company in 2005 in his mom's basement in Denver and moved to Tahoe in 2012.

Bruno Damico,

Sales Rep

Bruno Damico is sales rep for Dynafit, Salewa, Wild Country and Pomoca across California, Arizona, and Nevada. He studied jazz drum set performance and international business at Denver University and lived in Boulder prior to moving to Tahoe. Before his current job, he worked as a customer/dealer service rep for Backcountry Access. 

Ben Kimple, Gus Banuski, Tahoe Brew Tours

Tahoe Brew Tours was established in 2016 by Ben Kimple and Gus Banuski, transplants to the Lake Tahoe region from upstate New York. The brewery tour company was founded on a foundation of degrees in Recreation Management and Tourism studies, coupled with over a decade of experience in outdoor guiding. Acting as owner/operators, Ben and Gus double as designated drivers and local guides during brewery tours; educating guests on the brewing process and history of beer, as well as the rich natural and human history of the Lake Tahoe.

Tyler Wilkinson-Ray, Filmmaker

Tyler Wilkinson-Ray is a filmmaker with a blended focus on storytelling and cinematography. He has created content for some of the largest outdoor and tech companies on the planet, including Google, Burton, and Patagonia. He is a National Geographic Young Explorer, and his films have received widespread recognition, including a Powder Award, Vimeo Staff Pick, and official selections to Banff and Telluride Mountainfilm.

David Tarr, Producer/Podcast Host

David Tarr is a Hollywood consulting producer, podcast host, and political activist. He holds a master’s from UCLA’s Producers Program and evaluates creative content such as feature film scripts, TV pilots, and unscripted documentary projects. His podcast “Your Daily Dose of DeterMcBizness” offers commentary on the worlds of sports, politics, and film.

Rachel Levin, Rustic Pathways

Rachel Levin is a brand engagement manager at Rustic Pathways, a travel company. She embraces the ability to work remote, living and working in a number of different states, countries, and continents over the past few years. Originally from New England, she focuses her love of travel, storytelling, and her unquenchable curiosity of humans in nature through marketing educational travel experiences that focus on social impact. Rachel is also a talented ceramicist.

Jarrett Barbuto, Geospatial Analyst

Jarrett Barbuto is a geospatial analyst and research scientist at Spatial Informatics Group (SIG). He holds a degree in environmental ecience with a focus on Natural Resources at the University of Vermont.  Jarrett is a FAA Certified UAS Pilot and has completed over 150 UAS missions. Jarrett has been involved in a wide-variety of GIS projects, which have utilized different sources of remotely sensed data that mostly focused on the creation of high-resolution land cover maps. 

Chase Schweitzer, Sierra Watch

Chase Schweitzer is field representative for Sierra Watch, a conservation advocacy group focused on development threats to the Sierra Nevada. As a community organizer, he is focused on preserving the environment and heritage of the greater Sierra Nevada range, including Squaw Valley, where he grew up skiing and snowboarding. A recent graduate of UC Berkeley, he draws from experience in communications and journalism, as well as organizing volunteers for meaningful service projects.

Isaac Silverman, Sierra Watch

Isaac Silverman is an environmental attorney and organizer with deep roots in the Sierra Nevada from growing up in the Placer County foothills. He joined Sierra Watch as their staff attorney in 2014. He previously worked as legal clerk for the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition and Natural Resources Defense Fund, as a consultant to the climate and air program at Environmental Defense Fund, and as an advocate and organizer at Environment America. 

Kirstin Guinn, Marketing Director

Kirstin Guinn is the Director of Marketing for Destination Residences Snowmass in Colorado. A firm believer in learning from every opportunity, Kirstin learned from experience that she actually doesn’t want to run her own company, and so is happy to have landed back with Destination Hotels, the country’s largest operator of independent, boutique hotels. She has been in Tahoe since 2001 but is seeing it with fresh eyes now that her son Miles has become her most trusted adventure buddy.

 

Brett Smith, Architect

Brett Smith is the Tahoe pioneer for DeForest Architects. DA+ is known for modern design that plays well with others. Brett joined DA+ while pursuing his Masters in Architecture at the University of Washington. He spent 4 years in the Seattle studio before returning to his native California. Brett and his wife, daughter, and dog take every opportunity to explore the mountains around their Tahoe home by ski, bike, boat, and boot.

Mike Attolico,

West Coast Design

Mike Attolico owns West Coast Design, a structural steel detailing company.  His work involves creating detailed plans to fabricate steel assemblies, like columns and beams for buildings, for structural steel fabrication shops to work off of. “For us, it’s all computer work, and the job can be done from anywhere as well,” Attolico says. He has a few team members who work remote in various cities.

Tom Jennings, Cloud Data

Tom Jennings is the founder of Cloud Data, a Tahoe-based tech start-up that uses drones to produce high quality maps and imaging solutions that sends pilots into the field to capture data and export contour maps, point clouds, georeferenced maps, 3D models and HD video. Tom has shot aerials for Chase International, Tahoe Mountain Realty, Sheridan Brokers, Squaw Valley Resort, United Construction and the BBC. When he’s not flying drones, Tom is also the avalanche forecaster and a veteran ski patroller at Squaw Valley.

Kellee Rutley, Chiropractor

Dr. Kellee Rutley is a feminine fat loss specialist and a Doctor of Chiropractic. She works with women who are ready to finally release the extra weight that’s been holding them back from having the health and living the life they truly desire. A former professional fitness trainer and competitive gymnast and distance runner, Kellee has been successfully helping women find lasting health and true fitness for over 20 years. Kellee works with women online and in person in her private and group coaching programs.
