The Tahoe Food Hub is opening its headquarters and a fresh-food market downstairs from the Tahoe Mill Collective this week, bringing a great new local non-profit organization to our building. The Food Hub opens Thursday at 3:00 p.m. (visitors on opening day will receive a free one-pound bag of kiwis from Shared Abundance Organic Farm in Auburn.

The Tahoe Food Hub's market will be open weekly Thursdays and Fridays from 3-7 p.m. through March. They will resume summer hours Memorial Day weekend in May. They will start with limited hours of operation and slowly expand as products and demands increase. "We are open to suggestions so please let us know what you would like to see," says Matthew Gibely, the Tahoe Food Hub's Farm to Market Manager. "Our store will be a year-round produce stand offering farmers a way to move surplus crops while increasing access for our community to local, sustainably-grown food."
